How this tool works
The consent checker tests if a website loads trackers and cookies before user consent. Per GDPR and ePrivacy directive, tracking cookies and third-party trackers may only be set after active opt-in. The tool analyses the initial page load for known tracker domains.

Frequently asked questions
Are trackers detected only in HTML or also in JavaScript?
Currently we analyse the initial HTML source for script/link tags to known tracker domains. JS-loaded trackers require a headless browser (see GDPR cookie scanner).
What is a Consent Management Platform (CMP)?
A tool that manages the cookie banner and activates trackers only after consent. Common CMPs: Cookiebot, OneTrust, Usercentrics, Borlabs Cookie, Klaro.
What counts as a "tracker"?
Third-party domains known for analytics, advertising or social media tracking: Google Analytics, GTM, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, etc.
Why is my CMP not detected?
We search for common CMP patterns in HTML. Less known or custom CMPs may not be detected.
Does this check use headless browser analysis?
No — for full browser analysis use the GDPR cookie scanner. This check is a quick HTML-based scan.
Is a cookie banner without blocking sufficient?
No. The banner alone is not enough — trackers must be technically blocked until the user actively consents. "Information banners" without blocking are not GDPR-compliant.
