IP address check
Full profile for an IP address: coarse location, network/ASN, time zone plus privacy and risk signals. Auto-detects your own IP.
How this tool works
The IP check bundles everything derivable from an IP address into one profile: approximate location (country, region, city, postal code, coordinates with accuracy radius and confidence), network info (ASN, provider/ISP, RIR, IP range, connection type), localization data (time zone, calling code, currency, official languages, EU membership) plus privacy and risk signals (VPN, Tor, relay, satellite, hosting/data center, abuse score). On load the page auto-detects your own public IP; via the input field you can check any other public IPv4 or IPv6 address. Geo data comes from open IP databases and is an estimate — not an exact location.
Typical use cases
- Fast triage: see all known attributes of a suspicious IP from a server log at a glance
- Check your own connection — which IP, which provider, which approximate region are visible externally
- Verify country and ASN of an IP before a geo-block or whitelist entry
- Check whether an IP comes from a data center or residential line before classifying it as a bot
- Derive localization defaults (time zone, currency, calling code) for an incoming request
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the location?
IP geolocation is an estimate. That is why we also show an accuracy radius and confidence. At city level it is often within a few kilometers, but with mobile lines, VPNs or carrier-grade NAT it may show the provider location instead of the actual whereabouts.
Where does the data come from?
From open IP-geo and routing sources (e.g. DB-IP, iptoasn, RIR allocations). We run the geo system natively on EU servers and use no US third-party API.
Does XICTRAQ store the IP addresses I enter?
No. The query is processed in memory and answered directly. IPs you enter are not stored for tracking purposes; the page sets no cookies, and our own cookieless reach measurement records no values you enter.
What does the abuse score mean?
The abuse score is a reputation value derived from network attributes and known patterns (hosting, anonymizing networks). It is a hint, not a verdict — a high number means elevated risk, not necessarily malicious behavior.
Does the check work with IPv6?
Yes. Both IPv4 and IPv6 are supported. With an empty input field the IP your browser used for this request is taken — on dual-stack that can be an IPv6 address.
How is this different from "What is my IP?"
The IP check is the more comprehensive tool: on top of IP and coarse location it returns ASN/RIR, connection type, time zone, calling code, currency plus privacy and risk signals — and you can check any third-party IP, not just your own.
