How this tool works
The speed test measures download and upload speed plus latency and jitter from your browser to our measurement server in Nuremberg (Germany). Packet size adapts dynamically to your connection — faster connections (>100 Mbps) use larger test files for more accurate measurement. No Flash, no Java, no app installation — runs entirely in the browser via standard HTTPS requests.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the test?
Accuracy is typically within ±10% of actual line capacity. For very fast connections (>500 Mbps), browser overhead may slightly underestimate. For SLA documentation we recommend multiple tests at different times of day.
Which server is the test measured against?
Against exactly one: our measurement server in Nuremberg (Germany). The result therefore describes the path from your line to a German data centre. Latency to more distant targets is typically higher and throughput somewhat lower.
Is my data stored?
No. Test traffic (download/upload packets) is immediately discarded. We store no test results, IP addresses or connection data.
Why is my result lower than my ISP contract?
Multiple factors: WiFi instead of cable, other devices on the network, browser overhead, routing path to server. Test via cable and close other downloads. The "up to" figure in your contract is the theoretical maximum.
