How does XICTRAQ monitor availability?
In short
Via several independent measurement nodes in EU data centres (Nuremberg, Helsinki, Falkenstein) that decide by consensus whether an incident is real. The shortest interval is 30 seconds.
Several independent nodes check the website in parallel. An alert is only triggered once multiple locations confirm an outage — this reduces false alarms from local network issues. HTTP, HTTPS and TCP ports are checked.
The shortest interval of 30 seconds is available in the Agency plan; the Free plan uses 5 minutes, Starter and Business 1 minute. Maintenance windows can be defined per website to exclude planned downtimes from alerts.
