ASN & network lookup

Resolve an IP address, CIDR block or AS number to organization, provider domain, network prefix, RIR plus hosting and abuse signals.

IP address (8.8.8.8), network block with prefix length (8.8.8.0/24) or AS number (AS15169).

How this tool works

The ASN & network lookup accepts an IP address, a CIDR block or directly an AS number and resolves the network context from it: the associated autonomous system number (ASN), the operating organization including provider domain, the surrounding network (prefix), the responsible RIR (regional internet registry) plus hosting/data-center signals and an abuse score for a rough estimate. This lets you quickly map an address to its provider and network block — useful when evaluating logs, setting firewall rules at network level or understanding who owns an address range. Data comes from open routing and RIR sources.

Typical use cases

  • Map an IP from the log to its provider, network block and responsible RIR
  • Understand a whole CIDR range before blocking or allowing it at network level
  • Look up by AS number which organization is behind a network
  • Assess whether an address range belongs to a hosting or data-center network
  • Review the abuse signals of a network before whitelisting or blocking

Frequently asked questions

Which inputs are accepted?

A single IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), a CIDR block like 192.0.2.0/24 or directly an AS number like AS15169. The tool detects the input type automatically and resolves the matching network context.

What is an ASN?

An autonomous system number identifies a network operated under a single routing policy on the internet — typically by a provider, hoster or larger company. Via the ASN you can determine the operator of an address range.

What does the RIR mean?

The regional internet registry (e.g. RIPE NCC for Europe, ARIN for North America) manages the allocation of IP addresses and ASNs in its region. It roughly indicates in which part of the world the address range is registered.

How reliable are the hosting signals?

The mapping via ASN and known networks is good but not proof in a single case. It helps gauge whether a network is more hosting/data center or consumer lines.

Are the inputs stored?

No. The query is processed in memory and not stored for tracking purposes. The page uses neither cookies nor a tracker.

How does it differ from the IP check?

The IP check returns the full geo, localization and risk profile of a single IP. The ASN & network lookup focuses on the network level — organization, prefix, RIR — and additionally accepts CIDR and AS numbers as input.
